So, Todd the Pallet Destroyer, will now be destroying pallets, as he does, and I will be sanding them with my electric sander. He can be the official “Pallet Destroyer” (imagine that spoken in a dark scary voice with an echo echo echo, and it makes it sound much cooler – and maybe add some 80’s cartoon graphics too, while you are at it.)ĬLEAR WINNER for Taking Apart Wooden Pallets However, let it be known that I’m telling you straight up, with no shame, that I definitely do not have the strength to use this! This pallet dismantler, doesn’t however, magically take out the nails. SUCCESS! It definitely works, and it definitely pulls apart the boards of the pallet. We finally tried this contraption, the pallet dismantler, that we bought on amazon. However, some of the boards were nailed in such a way that it was nearly impossible to actually reach the center parts of the pallet and use the saw to remove those boards. The jist is that you simply cut through the nails. We would have had more luck bending time and space than we did getting those nails out this way. How do you get those dang wooden pallets apart? Hammer Method to Take Apart Wood Palletsįirst, we tried the simple hammer method of trying to get the nails out, and the boards to separate. Long story short (too late!) that is what this blog is (finally!) about. You have to get in there, and actually work! You ABSOLUTELY MUST make sure your wooden pallets are free from toxic chemicals and safe!Īfter you get the wooden pallets, they are still in pallet form. It can also be used on roof joists, to remove wood siding, pallets and almost anywhere you need to remove boards. How to Take Apart Wooden Pallets (Pallet Dismantler!) Wooden Pallets The full measurements of the Duckbill Deck Wrecker are 5.5 x 4 x 54 inches and the weight is only5.75 pounds with the handle, which is the lighter pallet buster of our review. The head of the tool is heavy-gauge steel, and the shaft is a solid fiberglass composite. But, this particular tool is designed to dismantle old decks fast. So even the Duckbill Deck Wrecker has good ratings on THD or Amazon, it will be more likely to break the planks instead of pulling them loose cleanly. But, some users point out that it is a bit rigid, and the forks are often narrow and short. It’s a functional pallet buster that does the job and does it pretty well. The Duckbill Deck Wrecker adopts a patented design the uses leverage to pry boars easily from floor joists.
